BioShock 2 Isn’t Sea of Dreams Again

By Dr. Evelyn Reed | October 12, 2025 | 7 min read

BioShock 2’s on again, off again love affair with the subtitle “Sea of Dreams” is finally officially off…or we hope so, for the sake of our sanity.

Despite official word given to Eurogamer last month after the first time we discovered the subtitle wouldn’t stick, IGN now has jinda44 the e19 official official words, and they are BioShock 2, period. Why the confusion?

“We name most of our trailers at 2K and the name of the teaser trailer we released last October for BioShock 2 is called ‘Sea of Dreams,’ 2K spokesman Charlie Sinhaseni told IGN. “There was talk about adding that as an official subtitle, but we decided to simply keep it BioShock 2. We’re sorry for the confusion, but we’re glad people are so interested.”

This is the very last time we are acknowledging a name change for this game. 2K could change the name to BioShock’s Magical Big Daddy Adventure and it would betdog still be BioShock 2 as far as we’re concerned.
